Welcome to the Cock Inn
An Elizabethan pub with chocolate-box charm, the Cock Inn has been serving up fine food and drink in the village of Boughton Monchelsea since 1568.
It’s a picture-book pub both inside and out, with hanging baskets and whitewashed walls greeting you on arrival, and exposed beams and cosy inglenook fireplaces offering a warm welcome as you cross the threshold.
Just a short drive from the centre of Maidstone and four miles from Leeds Castle, the Cock Inn is a regular stop-off for walkers taking in the nearby Greensand Way. But the promise of fabulous country cooking attracts visitors from farther afield too - with the pub’s dining room extremely popular for its take on traditional fare.
Listed in The Good Beer Guide 2016, The Cock Inn is the perfect place for a relaxing drink too - with Shepherd Neame ales, world wines and a host of other delightful refreshments available at the bar. Indeed, when it comes to spirits, the Cock Inn seems to have one more than most; on three separate occasions, three different clairvoyants have identified a ghost here named George!
Whether you're searching for the paranormal, the perfect pint or a proper pub lunch after exploring Leeds Castle, the Cock Inn looks forward to welcoming you soon.
